What should the standard be for 'ninja' in this world be? Since the Sendobikou clan is a ninja family, figuring this out will strongly affect how I RP them when things get going.

Hm...I was thinking this was set in sort of a modern world, where ninjas are merely myths in people's minds, since they'd rather be ignorant and safe than informed and threatened

That would definitely make ninjas' jobs much easier if most people don't think about them. Would this mean that they would be somewhat mystical (maybe akin to the ninjas in Naruto), so people don't believe in them, or is it just that regular people don't want to think that there is an entire class of people out there that would be capable of killing them in broad daylight and get away with it?

It's more that they don't want to think that there are people out there capable of killing them in broad daylight. They want to feel safe.

So would ninjas just be regular people with amazing skills, then, or would they have their own form of 'magic,' or something?

Ninjas should be people with amazing skills that they worked hard for sounds best in this case. That way they could grow as a clan with new recruits and never go extinct. They should also have a backup plan in case something should happen to the entire clan, like a file with all their secret skillz and such.
...just an idea.
